Every second Saturday in July, for the last 134-years, the city of Durham has been taken over by miners, trade-unions and the general public for an event which is dubbed locally as 'The Big Meeting', also known as the Durham Miners' Gala.

A student of cinema who spent three-years making his first documentary, ‘Nature of the Beast’, which was completed and released in 2017. It received positive national reviews and has played at over 250 venues across Britain to date. In 2018, Daniel split his time between touring ‘Nature of the Beast’ around a multitude of venues and completing 'The Big Meeting', his second feature documentary; a film about the Durham Miners’ Gala. 'The Big Meeting' was released in late 2019 and played in cinemas across the UK - it was also well received by national critics, receiving a four-star review from Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian.
