The Ancient Trap

Sanaton Golpo A story of distressed people chained by a magical way of exploitation. Unbreakable chain like chorok(man hanged by fishhook) an Indian ritual. It’s a regular process to trap a section of people by taking advantages of their poverty. There is a shroff in that community of fishermen named Moni Halder who lend money in fishing to get profit. And to ensure his capital in a safe order every year he caches a young & stoud man for his newly made boat.
Primarily it seems to be a contract for one year but ultimately it becomes a lifelong trap. Once any body signs for a year he becomes a slave of modern world, can’t escape from the net. There is a trick..
All fishermen go to deep sea for four to five months.
After coming back with fishes they get one third of the total fish. Other three forth goes to the shroffs godown in a very complicated equation. The calculation is simple.. One forth of the total for boatn,one for the net & rest for the money what he lend. Which means the minimum ten workers in a boat get a very negligible amount of fish which is not sufficient for their daily living.
Further they ask for credit from the shroff..& they should have to give their thumb impression on a book for the next year.
After coming from the river fishers become the worker of the shroffs home like slaves..they repair their boat, ment their net and do other works what shroff ask for.
There is no way to go any other work.
One sadhu.. only son of jotin is determined to be free from that system in any circumnstances.
He loves laksmi, another distressed girl whose brother is the right hand of the moni shroff.
After a very long and complicated journey once sadhu has to surrender to the system too. caught by moni holder and then swanp with other fishermen to an endless journey.
