Director Biography - Stanton Stephens

Raised in his family's portrait studio in the Ozark hills, John left his home town after high school only to be stranded in Texas by a blown transmission and empty pockets. Changing his name to Stanton (his mother's maiden name), he bounced from band to band making his way through art and literature school in Denton Texas. Being a part of the music scene there, he became a default "actor" in the no-budget music videos and short films of his friends. After college, failing at painting and going nowhere with his music, he focused all his creative energy into photography, which eventually landed him at a commercial production company in Dallas. Going out on his own as a commercial and editorial photographer in 2013, he moved to Seattle where he established himself in the creative community while also shooting campaigns for some of the most recognizable brands in the world. He began his move into commercial directing in 2017 and produced his first narrative work, Tempted, in 2020.
