A heartwarming story about an unusual friendship of two children living in different countries in different time periods. An 11-year-old boy named Johnny, a talented young chess player has found his best friend Dashenka, a 10-year-old Russian girl living with her pet rabbit in 1963. Both children are dreaming about flying to space. Johnny wants to go back in time to meet Dashenka.

Director Biography - Mark Leschinsky

Mark Leschinsky is a 16-year-old award-winning student filmmaker at the Bergen County Academies high school in Hackensack, NJ — a magnet public school in NJ.

Mark is also the founder of The Lighthouse Initiative — the first student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to democratizing filmmaking for teens globally. Through this initiative, Mark is on a mission to inspire and empower other young students to express themselves through filmmaking and experience the joy and power of being heard.

Director Statement

I wanted to create a film about children and for children because we - the children are dreamers! Anything is possible for us! We dream about the same things no matter what country or what time we live in.

I hope that my film will inspire children to dream big and reach for the stars!
