Tales of The Browbeaten
OFFIONG tells the unfortunate tales of ASARI, a mute teenage prostitute, who elopes to the
unknown, from a life forced on her by her mother, the face behind the mask that plagues her as

On 3rd May, 2019, the International Labour Organization, said almost half of Nigerian children are trapped in forced labour.
At least 43% of Nigerian children are trapped in various forced labor, despite international conventions banning it.
In various forms which includes; making children go hawking in streets, using them to beg for alms, sending them to go work as domestic servants, or sales persons in shops, etc. have they been used. This is one of the consequences, of the level of poverty in the country. A Poverty which is not an outright lack of money, but of devaluation of the currency and inadequate social amenities coupled with the fact that the available few, are worn out, owing to poor governance.
Nothing justifies child labour, which most times, deprive children formal education and expose them to rape, kidnap, etc. It also increases social vices as these children pick up many on the streets.
Violence against women is also another very evil act still present in our world today.
In this two chapter anthology film, I mirrored three individuals going through the turbulent waters of cruel experience in the hands of their supposed loved ones.
