Antonio Padovan was born and raised near Venice, Italy. He lived for many years in New York City, where he started his directing career with Jack Attack, and horror short film which won more than thirty awards and was selected by more than fifty festivals internationally, including Fantafestival,
Milan, Sitges, Fantasia, Melbourne, Fantastic Fest, and the New York City Horror Film Festival. The film was released as part of two anthology films in the U.S.: Seven Hells (2014), and All Hallows' Eve 2 (2015). Padovan's next short films were an animated films produced in Italy: The Mods, which won the Giotto Special Prize at the Giffoni Film Festival, the largest children's film festival in the world, and Eveless (2016) a science-fiction horror short selected for inclusion in the 2017 science-fiction horror anthology film Galaxy of Horrors. In 2017 he wrote and directed his first feature film, The Last Prosecco, which stars Giuseppe Battiston and Rade Serbedzjia, a murder mystery comedy taking place among the vineyards of Prosecco, in the hills outside Venice. The film won several international awards and in Italy was nominated for three Golden Globes (Best Fist Feature, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography). In 2019 he wrote and directed his second feature film Il Grande Passo (The Big Step), starring Giuseppe Battiston and Stefano Fresi, who have never appeared on screen together before, playing two brothers.
