Director Biography - G.S.UNNIKRISHNAN NAIR

G. S. UNNIKRISHNAN NAIR
A graduate in Agriculture from Benares Hindu University; G.S.Unnikrishnan also did P G in Journalism and Mass Communication. Presently working as Director of SAMETI under Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala. He is contributing Popular-science articles in leading Newspapers and magazines and producing Science films for the past 3 decades. He has produced over 220 episodes of the weekly Farm Magazine program “Noorumeni”which was telecast through DD (Malayalam) Channel. Also anchored over 100 live episodes of “Krishidarsan”.

Won 9 National Awards and 11 State Awards for Science communication. This includes National Science Communication Award of DST 2008 and 2016,Neo-Literature Award of National Literacy Mission 2002, Bronze Beaver Award in the National Science film festival of India-2014 ,2015 and 2018; NCERT CIET AICEAVF Film Festival best film Award during 2016 and 2018,Indian Medical Association Electronic media Award 2011, Kerala State Biodiversity Media Award 2018,State Science Literature Award 2008,State Farm journalist award 2008,Kerala State Children’s literature award 2005, 2015 and 2018 etc.

His Documentaries have been screened in International and National Film Festivals including International Nature Film festival ,Godollo,Hungary, International TV Ecological Festival,Ugra,Russia,London Eco film festival, Sandalia Sustainability Film festival,Italy,InShort Film Festival ,Lagos,Nukhu Fest,USA,National Science Film Festival of India,CMS Vatavaran,NewDelhi,MIFF,Mumbai,India International Science Festival,IDSFFK,Kerala,Woodpecker International Film festival etc.
