I am a Writer/Producer/Director.
Before advertising, I had a successful career as a professional ballet dancer, dancing with the English National, Scottish Ballet and Boston Ballet.
I trained at the SCA as an Art Director in London, working with a number of London’s leading advertising agencies. As an award-winning creative, I conceived campaigns for Jeep, Sky, Campari and many others.
My passion for drama has motivated a number of highly successful short-form projects. My directorial debut ‘Two Plus One’ picked up a Best Director award at the Portobello Film Festival in London. My subsequent short-form works ‘Noise’ and ‘Strawberries’ have provoked debate at International film festivals.
I recently completed a feature- length documentary Still Stoked. The film follows Sean Goff a 55 -year-old skateboard legend who pushes his ageing body beyond its limits to compete in one last skate competition, despite concerns from his surgeon that another injury could permanently disable him.
I have two new projects in production Blindsided and Camden Fire.
I am the same age as Sean.
I loved skating when I was growing up in the ’70s – amongst all the crazy tribes of that era it was the skateboarding gang that I wanted to belong to.
But I haven’t set foot on a board for over 20 years. Haven’t even considered it.
In the meantime, Sean has continued risking life and limb several times a week.
This is what makes this story so interesting to me – that if you really want to keep doing something you can always find a way.
It shows that my generation is refusing to get old in the same way as previous ones and I believe that’s what will make it resonate with people of all ages and all interests.
