Abby is a lover of all things eclectic, nostalgic, absurd, and surreal. In Abby’s work, you will find bright colors, punchy dialogue, and strange happenings. You'll be reminded of glimpses of old computer games, the layout of the concessions stand at your childhood movie theater, or summer camp memories that you can’t quite put your finger on. Queerness informs everything Abby makes and women will always be found at the centerfold of her often lurid creations.
This comedy short is a campy parody of the stereotypical, over-the-top, borderline exploitive sexy car wash scenes that female characters are often subjected to. In the places where female sexuality is made into a spectacle, Wright flips it into a disastrous car wreck that you can’t bear to look away from. When the male fantasy takes a sudden turn and spirals into absurdity, the audience and our characters are left disgusted, confused, and horny all at the same time.
