KELLY ROULETTE - Biography/Writer/Director/Producer
Kelly Roulette (Ojibwe) is an award winning filmmaker, and former social justice lawyer. Her work experience includes stints on television where she produced local interest stories for First Nations Magazine (CKVU), and appeared on-air reading news promos for UTV (formerly CKVU).
In 2019, her first short fiction film Sometimes She Smiles premiered at the Victoria Film Festival, and was subsequently shown at the Vancouver International Film Fest, and Native Spirit Film Festival in London, England.
In 2020, Kelly’s short documentary My Mother My Rock premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival. In 2021, it won an Excellence in Filmmaking Award from the Spotlight Film Awards in Atlanta, Georgia, and has since been chosen by numerous festivals worldwide, and shown on the CBC Documentary Channel and on APTN.
In 2022, Kelly was chosen to debut her comedy sizzle reel High Rez Art at the ISO Pitch Forum at the Banff World Media Festival, to an audience of national and international television executives.
My wish is to make films that reach into the hearts of people and open their minds to ideas they never contemplated before.
