Saving For The Day

Saving For The Day is a multi-genre adventure film. There are over a dozen genres in this unique passion project.

Joe Bell is a penny-pinching hermit saving for the day when his real life will begin. One day he’s given a chest filled with treasure by a cryptic, old man. After the Old-timer “accidentally” locks the chest, Joe must go on a series of adventures to track down the key. Each adventure is a different genre. There are a total of 15 different genres.

Joe’s quest leads him to a fearless & quirky archeologist named Abbey. She wears the key on a necklace unaware of it’s value to Joe. He falls for her and begins pursuing her for both love and money. His motivations are in direct conflict. Ultimately, Joe must decide between the two.

Director Statement

Saving For The Day has blockbuster ambition on an indie budget. It is the culmination of over 400 talented & dedicated volunteers coming together to create movie magic.

Growing up in rural Montana, movies were a window to the outside world. When I discovered my passion for filmmaking in high school, I quickly fell in love with films of all genres and from all eras. I obsessively studied how both Hollywood blockbusters and low budget indie films were made. Then, I went out to make movies of my own.

My love for cinema was a guiding light as I worked on Saving For The Day for well over a decade. Saving For The Day is a love letter to the films that influenced me while growing up in the 80s, 90s, & early 2000s.

I hope our love of movies is evident and you enjoy this ride through the many genres & set pieces in Saving For The Day.
