STU, MY NAME IS STU

I was lucky enough to direct “Stu, my name is Stu” surrounded by a team of millenials that believes in mobile storytelling. Our goal was to create a TV quality series made for the digital world. We shot in portrait with cinema quality cameras, creating a more immersive experience and a series perfectly adapted to the medium we use the most today: phones.

« Stu, My Name is Stu » is the story of Stu, a young actor trying to make it in the city of dreams: London. This is a story that any young people entering the adult life can relate to, and of anyone determined to follow an ambitious dream.

The series enlightens the secondary effects of social media. « Stu, My Name is Stu » shows two sides of our main character, Stu. On the one side, there’s the mask he puts on Instagram: a successful actor, radiant, content. But this stands in opposition to the reality of his life: struggling to believe in himself, a family questioning his choices and the competitiveness in the film industry. This contrast is emphasized on screen by the alternation between objective POV and moments of Stu filming Instagram Stories.

Based on the time spent on Social Media today and the strong demand for innovative content, we decided that Stu’s story should go beyond the series itself. We created an Instagram account for the show’s main character, for anyone to follow Stu’s day-to-day life after watching the episodes. Join the adventure!
