Schism

VANESSA steels herself to pitch a ground breaking idea to a board of medical practitioners and directors, which, if successful, will revolutionise the treatment of violent medical disorders. However, the conservative board prove refuse to engage with her theories, and are downright hostile when she reveals how she seeks to treat the afflicted: by making their mental conditions things of physical flesh. Her request is subsequently thrown out.

Not to be deterred, Vanessa takes matters into her own hands. Descending into the bowels of a prison like psychiatric facility, she gains access to a patient she has been following, CERA, who was seemingly compelled by her affliction to commit murderous atrocities. Reassuring her the she is there to help, she wires Cera up to her device.

The procedure is a success, leading to the creation of two Cera’s, one of which is a manifestation of pure malevolence. Vanessa is able to evade this evil clone, slipping the attentions of the guards and bringing the cured Cera to safety. However, it is revealed this Cera, is in fact the murderous entity, leaving the wholly innocent part maddened by her undeserved incarceration.
