Writer Statement

"Red Brick Road" is inspired by real events. For as long as I could remember I always felt connected to indigenous people of America. My mother is five feet tall; my father five feet two. I towered over both of them by the time I was 12 years old. I was convinced I was adopted or switched at birth. One day, my father shared a photo with me of my 3x great aunts - they were the most beautiful women I had ever seen - and all five of them had broad shoulders and were about six feet tall. It was like staring into a mirror and looking deep into my innermost being. "Red Brick Road" follows the journey of Bill Robertson as he seeks to discover the depths of his innermost being in the most unlikely of places. Who says you can't go home again?
