Aindrea Hopkins is a 2023 graduate of Western Carolina University, with a BFA in Film and Television Production. Aindrea wrote and directed her senior thesis project, ROE, which premiered at the 2023 Controlled Chaos Film Festival, where it won Best Writer, Best Editor, and Best Picture.
She hopes to inspire and create emotion within people with her stories. Her goal as a filmmaker is to create stories that underrepresented audiences can see themselves in and connect too in a meaningful way.
This is a story to help spread awareness of the harmful effects that overturning Roe v. Wade could do. There are many people unaware of the severe harm it will cause. I hope that putting light on the situation to drive more people to speak up and take action.
(This was the statement written during the initial pitching of the film, a few months before the overturn of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022)
