Director Biography - David Towne

David Towne is a conservatory- and stunt-trained actor, as well as Magna Cum Laude graduate of Loyola University Chicago and iO Chicago born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. His passion for writing was born amid high school film production, drama, and speech team; developed in undergrad under the tutelage of playwright Philip Dawkins; and finally blossomed upon moving to L.A. with his evenings being no longer filled with theatre rehearsals. In addition to lifelong fitness, his greatest (and often conflicting) passions are for cars and sustainability.

Director Statement

"Quakeproofing" came to me a few years ago, having at that point still not acted alongside my Loyola University Chicago classmate Meredith Vivian. The story, however, comes from my very real horror to learn after moving to L.A. that scientists predict a cataclysmic earthquake called "the big one" could occur at any moment. (Something has to balance out our nice weather, I guess.) Finally, I've noticed natural disasters are very much like relationships: attention-demanding; messy; and able to leave you distraught, homeless, injured, or worse.
