Martin has been creating computer graphics all his life. As an animator and film visualisation supervisor, he has created huge action sequences for likes of Jurassic World, James Bond, Marvel, the DC Universe and The Wheel of Time.
It was my brother that first stumbled across the extraordinary tale of Douglas Clark, and he became Clark’s official biographer. I was equally as enthralled, and set to work adapting a part of his life into animated form, learning Unreal Engine while applying techniques learned in my time as a previs artist and supervisor on franchises such as JURASSIC WORLD, JAMES BOND, FAST & FURIOUS, MARVEL and the DCU. It was in August of 2020 that I completed the first rough cut, and over the following months the film grew more ambitious in scope, until ultimately I decided that my vision of a ten-minute, photoreal cinematic could not be achieved by myself. Lacking any funding, I downgraded the visual ambition of the piece to make it achievable, but in doing so I feel like it has given the piece a breath of fresh air, visually.
