Praatibimbo

Praatibimbo is a bengali short film. This film is based on a relationship between Indian parents ( who stay far away from their son in a village ) and their son,daughter-in-law, and grandchild. This film shows that when parents become aged they become a burden to their child and their likings and dislikings become valueless. Arup who played the role of the son loves his wife Ahana and his daughter Maahi very much. He loves his parents too, but since he stays far away from his native place for job he could not take care of his parents. On the other hand, Ahana does not want her in-laws to come and stay with them. She wants them to stay in a nearby old age home. One day, Arup and Ahana got good offers from Mr.Mukherjee for their old house at native place and they approached their parents for the same. Arups' father turns down the offer and it leads to a misunderstanding between them. Ahana and Arup came back. One day, Arup received a phone call from their neighbor, Biplab that his mother was no longer there. Arup got shocked and started missing his mother very much. After a few months, Arup's father agreed to sell his house and he did so to Mr. Mukherjee in the presence of the lawyer , Arup , Ahana. After the formalities are done, Ahana notices that little Maahi is missing. She asked Arup to search for her. Arup, while searching, saw that Maahi was sitting in front of the village temple and crying. Arup tried to console Maahi . Maahi asked Arup why he sold his grandmother's house.Arup said that his grandma was no more and her Grand Pa was also aged, so they would take Grand Pa with them and would keep him in a nearby old age home. After hearing this, Maahi asked where she would keep Arup and Ahana when they grow old. Arup and Ahana were shocked. What goes around comes around.
