Director Biography - Christine Stoddard

Christine Sloan Stoddard Sánchez is a Salvadoran-American writer, artist, and director. She wrote/directed the play Mi Abuela, Queen of Nightmares, created the films Sirena's Gallery and Her Garden, and authored the books Heaven is a Photograph, Desert Fox by the Sea, and Water for the Cactus Woman, among other critically-acclaimed works. Previously, she was the first-ever artist-in-residence at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in Manhattan and an AnkhLave Arts Alliance fellow at the Queens Botanical Garden. She founded Quail Bell Magazine before going on to found Quail Bell Press & Productions. Her work has appeared in the Gene Frankel Theatre, Annmarie Sculpture Garden, Visible Poetry Project, Irondale Center, VCUarts Anderson Gallery, Chashama Fest, FiveMyles Gallery, Arts On Site, Brooklyn Public Library, and beyond.
