OTOGINEMA
The omnibus film "OTOGINEMA" is a collection of five short films based on representative Japanese folktales: Momotaro, Issunboshi, Urashima Taro, Kaguyahime, and Yuki-onna. The short 5-10 minute episodes are filled with the ideas of the 10 scriptwriters, including "afterwards" and "another ending," creating a nostalgic yet new modern version of otogi-zoshi. The setting has been changed to the present day, and the story is depicted from a new perspective in which the main character does not appear in the original story. We hope you will enjoy this omnibus film, which offers a rich variety of cinematic delights, including comedy, horror, action, noir, and more.

The omnibus film "OTOGINEMA" consists of five episodes inspired by famous Japanese folktales. Each episode is set in the present day and is full of cinematic delights: comedy, horror, action, noir, etc. About 5 to 10 episodes appear one after another, so you will never get bored.
Many Japanese folktales are profound, but by adding a new perspective, we have tried to create a new and different kind of fascination. I hope that many people will enjoy them at film festivals around the world.
The works I used as motifs for this film are "Kaguyahime","Yuki-onna","Issunboshi","Urashima Taro",and "Momotaro".
I hope that this film will trigger your interest in Japanese culture and folktales.
