Director Biography - Parissa Pirouzan Glaser

Parissa Pirouzan Glaser is an Iranian born and raised filmmaker. Prior to pursuing her dream of making films she worked at some of Silicon Valley's most revered tech companies such as Google, Uber and Pinterest where she led international launches and expansions.

Parissa strives to create thought provoking films that address the significant underrepresentation of women from the Middle East in Western media. It is her belief that authentic storytelling can foster meaningful connections and challenge preconceived notions, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.

New Day delves into the daily challenges experienced by Iranians due to the historically tense relationship between the US and Iran. By exploring the personal journey of our protagonist, Bahar, I strive to humanize the experiences of immigrants and bridge the cultural divide with the American audience, emphasizing that despite our differences we all share a common desire for a peaceful life with loved ones.
