Director Biography - G.R. Hinojosa

Filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist, graduated from Universidad de Cine AMCI, with specialty in Scriptwriting and Cinematographic Direction. His thesis project "Nunca Suficiente" (Never enough) was filmed in 16mm and premiered in 2008 at Cineteca Nacional. Started his professional career participating in different areas and phases of audiovisual productions such as: feature films, short films, promotionals, institutional videos, and video clips.
In 2011 he founded and directed Pachuca Short Film Festival, annually event that in 2013 started receiving international participation and grows in 2018 as “Hidalgo Fim Fest” Hidalgo International Film Festival. It´s most recent 9° Edition (2020) was suspended due Covid-19. The next celebration is in Stand-by.
His first video clip as a director (2013) for Melissa y Sebastián with the song “MAMMA MARÍA” produced by Azteca Music, reached more than 2,500,000 visualizations in Youtube.
Speaker at Aula Magna in Centro Nacional de las Artes with the talk “Cinematography as a way of life” during Stop Motion MX (2016).
Jury at the 20º Tour de Cine Francés for "La Palmita Award" in 2016.

“RELOJERO” Eng. "Watchmaker" (2017) is his first documentary short fim, produced at National Network of Audiovisual Poles from IMCINE. Its premier at Cinemex receives recognition from the municipal government of Pachuca; Official selection and screened in 10 international film festivals: Viva Festival (Bosnia y Herzegovina), CIK Film Festival (Croatia), Istanbul International Architecture and Urban Films Festival (Turkey), First-Time Filmmaker Sessions (UK), Inshort Film Festival (Nigeria), Caribbean Film Festival & Market (Bahamas), Tur de Cine Mexicano (México), Cinetekton! (Puebla, México), FICMA (CDMX, México), Tlanchana Fest (Edo de México, México).

"NESCIUS" (2021) has been a "Pandemic Film". Invited by the writers Tomás Góhe and Magdiel Casandra Sánchez Castrejón to work the script and direct. Hinojosa took step on the sets again resulting in a personal statement in cinematographic language as an author.
