MUY DIFÍCIL (VERY DIFFICULT)

MUY DIFÍCIL is a short docu-film (with English subtitles) by a creative team of five shot in ten days (June 21st-June 30th) on the present day Venezuelan crisis spill over into Colombia. The docu-film uses one main interview (Evelin Niño) foundationally intertwined with five others (Maria, Jessica, Fabio, Roman, and Alfredo) to communicate the current desperation of millions in Venezuela in light of the crisis that currently leaves many in a catastrophic situation of literal famine as they try to now find food, safety, medicine and work to live–with some walking by foot over 200 miles. This docu-film is not a thing of the past but a plea to help those in need, now, as many solutions require people not in the crisis to bring about a redemptive reality for their fellow brothers and sisters of humanity. Take the journey through vibrant cultural and emotional landscapes as you come to understand why everyone in the documentary called the current state of affairs MUY DIFÍCIL.

Director Biography - Adam Thomason

I–Adam "Lumkile" Thomason have traveled to over 15 countries conveying observing the life and humanity of others. The countries of travel include Sudan, Kenya, South Africa, China, Greece, and Palestine to name a few. A native of Detroit, Michigan, I graciously made it through adverse circumstances, be it violence, broken homes, racial discrimination and more. With over seventeen years of experience as it pertains to travel, branding and living in ethnically divided countries, cultures, sub-cultures, and relationships I love people in this world. I am a new filmmaker as of 2018 but have been in the entertainment, film and fashion world since 1999. I am a unique filmmaker who understands the heart and soul of people present, with the hope of healing and peace.

Director Statement

This docufilm is special because we wanted to take a small team of four to Colombia/Venezuela that could fit everything we needed in carry-ons, do research ahead of time, but have Venezuelans be the lead voice and be adaptable to what might change. Many things you see in the docufilm is a product of when preparation meets spontaneity. We shot with a Canon D Mark 2, Sony a6300 and a Mavic drone. So proud of my team. We wanted to tell a needed story that needs IMMEDIATE ATTENTION NOW. This short docu-film makes me proud to serve those in current need and enlightened to the privileged knowledge given to me by the Venezuelan people.
