Director Biography - Walter Rastelli

I started attending Film Directing courses already during the high school; to this I added several personal studies in the field of photography, video editing and 3D animation. After finishing my studies, I moved to Rome where I continued my studies privately at the Libera Università del Cinema di Roma. In the meantime I attended several sets in the capital, made several amateur short films and, together with some friends from Naples united by the passion for cinema, we founded the Drazil Production in October 2016, a cultural association dedicated to the production of low budget short films.

In 2017, I enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples to pursue a degree in Cinema, Photography and Television. In 2018, to deepen my skills and knowledge of 3D animation, I attended a one-year Autodesk Maya course at Ilas.

Since 2018, I am co-founder and organizer of the Phlegraean Film Festival, an international short film festival established in the city of Bacoli and in the whole Campi Flegrei territory.

Director Statement

Jumpcut is a short film that I wrote in 2019 and decided to make as a thesis project for my degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.

I made it with the help and support of some friends, also enrolled in other film and acting academies.
