Grew up obviously loving movies. Then after watching Star Wars in 1977 on the opening night, developed an interest in film-making. Though unable to pursue the craft professionally, Paul finally turned it into a serious hobby after acquiring the wonderful editing/visual effects software Hitfilm.
Then began a series of small visual effects videos, each one getting more and more complex. A friend then suggested to him to perhaps start making "short films" which would string all these effects together.
So began a series of short films, which though low on plot, dazzled with (at first) low budget effects. Each successive film, generating new and better visuals as he went on. Eventually culminating in the last film being screened at the Creation Film Festival in Canada and winning the category of "Best Science Fiction Short".
His follow-up horror film The Terminus has been selected (and a finalist) in several festivals, netting an award for Best Screenwriting in the process.
Paul continues to push the boundaries of visual effects with each subsequent movie.
This latest project combines all four short stories from my Invasion series of films. Whilst each one was a story unto itself, stitching them together now makes the complete story whole.
I made some slight improvements to the first two instalments in order to match the quality of the latter two, such as clearer audio, crisper higher resolution images in some shots, and a few bridging scenes to link the four stories a little smoother.
Still an amateur project, but not too bad considering it was mostly shot with mobile devices and no tripod.
Summing up, this film has been a learning curve, and very much a joy to work on. Hope you enjoy it too.
