Gianluca is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn. His last short "Highly Recommended" premiered at the NY Shorts International Film Festival. He has worked in NYC production for almost a decade, including stints on Blue Bloods, Homeland, the feature film Weightless, creative for Hewlett Packard, Dollar Tree, Food Network, Toys R’ Us, and sketches for BOAT Comedy and Blizzard of '96.
Thank you for your consideration. My parents and grandparents emigrated to Brooklyn in the early 70s and were thrown suspenders-first into the American melting pot. My grandfather worked a jackhammer for 40 years and managed to purchase the building where I shot this film, a feat that frankly can't be replicated in this day and age. I wanted to honor that struggle - and success - and illuminate the sense of entitlement we experience when good fortune falls in our lap. I sought to create an epic yet seductive film that draws you deep into the intimate feelings of the players, while maintaining the distance of a neighbor listening in from above. Enjoy!
