Jamie was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and moved to Australia in 2009. Jamie is a Sydney/Adelaide based filmmaker, photographer, and musician who has a background in filming music videos and commercials (including Mates Against Melanoma, rock band Santino Salvadore & the 24hrs To Wonderland, and Ceerose constructions). Growing up as an aspiring photographer, Jamie is now a semi-professional specialising in wildlife photography full-time working in the film industry.
Jamie ultimately decided to pursue filmmaking. Jamie is also an Adelaide / Sydney based musician with a music production studio in Sydney and a professional recording / concert room in Adelaide. Jamie sees composers Hans Zimmer, Junkie XL, and Rupert Gregson-Williams as his biggest inspirations in the cinematic music scene.
In the professional filmmaking scene, Jamie was a member of award-winning international filmmaker Drago Lazetich's team of filmmakers based in Sydney, working together in the Australian film industry on original short films, feature films, and commercials.
Jamie Is branching fully into the directing field with his first major directorial effort being the action thriller short A Punch For A Buck, which he co-wrote with Australian actor Martin Cohen. The film will promote female representation in the action drama genre. It will be filmed in Sydney in 2024 with an Australian cast.
A big fan of Action, Psychological, and Crime thrillers, Jamie aims to establish himself as a filmmaker in those genres. Jamie is now also training in stunt action to further his craft in the action scene.
I wanted to create a pure cinematic and motivational documentary with a distinctive visual style and employing only voice overs. With this short documentary, I hope to inspire people who's into the bodybuilding scene and not look down on yourself when you see others with great successes. Never give up, be persistent, put in the effort, don't be afraid to fail, and you can and will achieve your goals.
