Director Biography - Bryant Anderson

Bryant Anderson, a filmmaker and screenwriter from Cleveland, Ohio, has a rich background in the film industry. He started his career as an actor and assistant director on local projects. His directorial debut was a short film titled "Finale," which he wrote, produced, and directed. "Finale" is an urban drama about two brothers - one a drug dealer and the other a homosexual dying of AIDS - who argue about important issues such as religion, thug life, and homosexuality. In the end, one of the brothers meets his fate. "Finale" was selected for the fourth annual Urban MediaMakers Film Festival.
Bryant's film "A Day of Racism," which he wrote and produced, is a powerful drama that exposes the young man's quest to end racism. The film explores the reality of racism in urban America and how racist words can lead to racist actions, changing lives forever. "A Day of Racism" was a finalist in the December 2020 New York Movie Awards.
As a screenwriter, Bryant has achieved great success with his script "A Family is a Family." The urban drama tells the story of a gay boardinghouse owner who tries to be a father figure to his mischievous tenants. "A Family is a Family" earn a selection for the KinoDrome International Motion Picture & Screenplay Festival and the Urban Mediamakers Festival. It also received quarter-finalist placement at the 2022 New York International Screenplay Awards.
Bryant's urban thriller screenplay, "You Better Run, You Better Hide," features a female lead character. The story follows a plus-size fitness instructor who breaks a state-mandated quarantine and runs for her life from a sociopath who hates women like her. In 2022, "You Better Run, You Better Hide" was a Hollywood Just4Shorts Film and Screenplay Competition finalist.
Bryant recently directed Niece Anderson's short film, "Perspective." The film explores the rational dilemma of a young man before his marriage proposal to the woman he loves, as she expresses discomfort about his jealous devotion to her. "Perspective" is set for release in September 2022.
