Artist Biography

George Varsimashvili is a Georgian photographer born in Tbilisi in 1986. He graduated in ESRA Paris photography school in 2014 and started working is a high profile corporation Bouygues Constructions as their marketing photographer. In 2017 he started making architecture pictures for Wikipedia. His first project was a double album about abandoned places in Tbilisi. The first part Mtstsminda was published in 2018. The album was exhibited in various galleries. In the same year together with photographers Nik Voigt and Giorgi Shanidze a second volume of the project was published showing old Tbilisi architecture taken with 19th century technologies. At the present, a new album High Altitude is in production, while some of the pictures already exhibited in Glasgow gallery of Photography.
