Director Statement

The idea for "Mrs. Feinstein" came when this very wealthy couple I would often babysit for asked if I could actually help work as the Bartender for their Holiday Party. The wife's female friends were all wasted and telling her that they should be careful that I might steal her husband. She came over drunk and told me what they were saying. And I jokingly reassured her, "If anything I would steal you, not your husband." She nervously laughed and smiled. She secretly told me she had always been interested in women but had never acted on it. A few months before this happened, I was coming to terms with my own realization that I was gay. This moment made me realize maybe it's not so easy to embrace who you are later in life, especially with the social pressures around you to be and act a certain way. It got me curious about what if there was a love story between the of age babysitter and wife of a hetersexual relationship rather than the cliche story of the male falling in love with the babysitter? I was curious what the journey would be coming out later in life when you've always been told and identified as straight? And how someone can have all the riches in the world yet didn't have the riches to be fully liberated in themselves?
