The Bliss

The breeze rustled the leaves and a soothing melody of nature set out as if swaying in self indulgence.

She lies on the bed, a sweet and self absorbed smile radiating on her lips. She felt her lips, and her eyes twinkled as if reminiscent of a lingering kiss. She closed her eyes and began moving her body as if to the tune of a song only she could hear. She let her head slide slightly off the bed, her neck straining a bit and in doing so her beautiful neck is exposed. From along her side a hand moves and it's fingers touch her neck, moves in such a delicate stroke as though a feather falling weightless from the sky. The caressing fingers make a move further down with malicious intent when she suddenly twists and with a mocking bite to her lover lip, stands.

She keeps moving to the imaginary music, now also audible to the world privy to her endearing and tantalizing act. With sudden successive turns she moves to the far end of the room. The end of her loosened saree flutters like fingers teasing seductively. The man rises from the bed, stands by it, a moment of indecisive yearning apparent in him. As she reaches the window, she flungs open the curtains that lay shyly camouflaging them from the world. For a moment the man appears tenuous while she stands exposed to the world, her panting breath breaking against the window pane and casting a misty patch. She looks at it and draws a heart on the misted window pane. The man walks up to her, holds her from behind in a half embrace evident of intensity and intimacy. She moves her body back into him, her demeanor exuberant with passion. He runs his hand along her hands, setting goosebumps through her tender but radiant skin, to the tip of her fingers and then to the heart held beneath her palm. She turns her palm and intertwines her fingers with his. Then she stops and her eyes settle on the wedding ring on his fingers.

The mood seems to have suddenly turned sullen. She lets her fingers drop, her gaze rise. He sighs. And the music dies. The rain pours down. The window stays lit as the pavement is flooded by tears of the skies. From afar the light stays on at the apartment window.
