Tyler Knutt is an Art Director from Miami, Florida. His work sprawls from shooting and editing commercials for Rolls Royce and McLaren dealerships, to producing and directing video content for the mobile gun violence app ‘Shot Spot’. His focus has recently tended to humanitarian filmmaking, and his documentary “Peacekeeper” was featured at the American Pavilion at Cannes.
It has become clear to me that many men in America are taught to buy into a hetero lifestyle, although this narrative has since evolved. Many of my friends in middle and high school coped with understanding their sexuality, and bounced between hetero relationships before finally realizing their true selves. The first time I truly understood the fluidity of sexuality occurred when the father of my childhood friend came out of the closet. After seeing the effect it had on her family life, I realized that this type of story had been far too marginalized. My goal with this film is to further the dialogue into having a more open approach to sexuality, so that we can all lead the lives we deserve.
