Director Statement

I met Graciela in 2013. Back then, traveling on highways all over Mexico was extremely dangerous. We started filming the web-documentary "Geography of Pain". Traveling to his town Tamoín, I understood the magnitude of the terror of losing a family member. Families lose a loved one, if they cannot find it, but they live a radical change in their lives. and politicize, lose their fear of power and crime. The sense of demanding justice and denouncing more abuses give meaning to their new reality. Graciela is a person who exemplifies this situation and is just an extension of the wounded Mexico that resists.
