About God, Blood and Gasoline,
The whole thing started back in 2017 when Michelle discovered the Blues music genre with the artist Adam Road. The song made by Adam Road « If God don't follow me » was also a big part of the inspiration for the story. She also got really fascinated by the biblical representations present in blues music and stories.
She also wanted to place the story into a vintage, dirty and hot landscape.
Finding an old car was a real challenge because vintage car's owners don't want to bring their collection car into sand but after a month, the production found an old Dodge Coronet 500 1966. Now that they had the car, the challenge was now to find huge sand dunes... and that was also really hard to find in the boreal forest.
Michelle's statement about the story : " I think these are characters who find themselves in a situation in which they really don’t want to be. They are characters that, like most of us, have never dealt with intense violence before and they act out of survival instinct, emotions and impulsivity, like I think anyone would, men or women. The demon, really how I see it, as no sides, he represents pure and raw anger, which can sometimes control us and make us do things we normally wouldn’t. "
