Garta (The Whirlpool of Truth)
Year 2020, America. Inspired by right wing political parties, the entire country was roiled in the blaze of color discrimination. While the country was on fire, Texas Congressman John Smith was engrossed in an entirely different dilemma. A white American woman from his voter base had created havoc by accusing an immigrant man of Indian origin with grave sexual assault allegations. Not only did Indian Americans made up a large part of John Smith’s voter base, but they had played a crucial role in making him win the last election. Winning electoral power is important, but making it last long is tougher. So as the election loomed, finding out where his voters were leaning on the issue of this sexual assault case was critical to win for John Smith. That’s the reason he reached out for help from the famous lawyer and his dear family friend Mr. James from Austin.
Even though Mr. James was a lawyer by profession, he also had a degree in psychology, and he had a novel mirror-jury process that had made him famous. He suggested an innovative idea to John Smith.
Smith had to pick seven different people who accurately represented his Indian voter base. A mirror jury had to be created with these seven people and this sexual assault case had to be presented to them to know their personal opinions and decisions about the case. Once he knew the pulse of the voters, it was going to be easy for John Smith to win. John Smith loved the idea a lot and he gave immediate approval for it. Finally, today, the day of the jury decision had dawned.
