Parissa Pirouzan Glaser is an Iranian born and raised filmmaker. Prior to pursuing her dream of making films she worked at some of Silicon Valley's most revered tech companies such as Google, Uber and Pinterest where she led international launches and expansions.
Parissa strives to create thought provoking films that address the significant underrepresentation of women from the Middle East in Western media. It is her belief that authentic storytelling can foster meaningful connections and challenge preconceived notions, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
Being from Iran, I know all too well the dangers of censorship and how it can gradually turn into an authoritarian force that would negatively impact all facets of society, art, literature and life. We made this film to show, through humor and the innocent point of view of children, how such imposed guidelines can affect individuals’ critical thinking, self expression and their ability to interact with one another.
As Florida Filmmakers we also wanted to honor and support our LGBTQIA+ community and the passionate teachers who are doing their best to teach and nurture all children while being caught in the crossfire of our Governor's political ambitions.
