This project is a reluctant exploration of how I perceive the past. For over a decade, film and art often fell at the wayside in favor of lesser passions. I acknowledge a renewed responsibility for the ways this time in my life is reflected upon. My wish for this work is to depict an anxious fear I have for what Filmmaking could become given its cultural fanaticism – comparable to that of sports. How do powerful members of these fanatical institutions behave? How does it affect the people they lead and represent? In either realm of interest I believe an opportunity exists to create something larger than an individual. Hopefully for better, but often for worse.
“Give them Bread and Circuses and they will never revolt.”
