Samira Najafian (*1996 in Wiesbaden, Germany) grew up in the media city of Mainz. After finishing school here, she studied education and film
studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. During her studies, she worked in the ZDF editorial department HR Neue Medien and completed various internships, including at the film funding agency Kuratorium junger deutscher Film. She learned new practical skills at the TV production company Autorenkombinat in Mainz. All this experience led her to the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where she has been studying directing-journalistic film in the postgraduate diploma programme since 2019. She graduates in July 2023 with her diploma film, which is being co-produced with SWR.
