Consume

"Maybe this is it..."

‘Consume’ is an experimental short film which follows a young woman facing the pressures of modern life and the toxic, repetitive cycles of comparison she is stuck in. The audience is guided alongside Ella’s thoughts and emotions in a journey which reveals her daily habits that further perpetuate her feelings of inadequacy in comparison to her peers. Featuring themes of existentialism, consumerism and self-doubt, ‘Consume’ aims to reflect the struggles of young adults in the 21st Century.

Director Statement

I was deeply inspired by Elina Blaise's writing and knew this was a story, an experience, that deserved a platform. I often catch myself thinking, "what am I doing here?" or, "why can't my life look more like this..." and so on. Sometimes I feel a bit lost, unsure, and misunderstood. But don't we all? Film and art allows us to find comfort in discomfort, and light when things feel dark. That's what I hope you get from this film
