Director Statement

'Code' focuses on 24 hours in the life of a medical resident on call. But aside from the medical mysteries popping up from every corner of the hospital, Dr. Lena Flores has to confront the very real demons in her own life that threaten to push her to the edge. Based in part on real life experiences, we made this film to highlight the struggles that young professionals in training go through, and to touch on a subject that has claimed one too many victims: burnout. When our providers don't spend the effort to take care of themselves, what are the inevitable consequences? Who really suffers?
