Cleaning Shipwrecks

In the night of 1st and 2nd of January 2019, the ship MSCZoe lost 342 cargo containers in the North Sea. Plastics in the sea accumulates around shipwrecks and threatens the water quality of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. A team of experienced North Sea wreck divers voluntarily heads out to salvage the waste around wreck sites.

Director Biography - Maarten Slooves

Maarten Slooves is a cinematographer who combines modern technology and traditional film-making skills to document unique experiences and perceptions. He seeks to visualise authentic, yet thought-provoking and captivating stories that quickly engage a targeted public in short documentaries, films and commercials. His work has been recognised by the Dutch Drone Film Festival and Italy Peugeot Drone Film Festival and was a finalist at the Los Angeles Drone Film Festival in 2017.
