Director Biography - Carter Schaeffer

Carter Schaeffer is an award winning Virginia-based filmmaker from the Roanoke Valley. His filmography as a director includes such films as Battle of The Bands, Bigfoot? Bigger Men!, and HEY! It's Not Soccer!!! Schaeffer is also a sound technician who's done work with Chloe Shelton, Dylan Trail, and the Grandin Theatre Film Lab.

Director Statement

“Bigfoot? Bigger Men!” was the result of me watching too many YouTube videos about Sasquatch, over a decade of cryptid research, and a childhood in Southwest Virginia. My previous film was an intimate drama and I wanted a change of pace, so mockumentary was a natural choice. “Bigfoot?” is also about family, and especially how we live with the weirdos we love. It’s a strange film, and is only really meant to be fun and goofy. Please enjoy, and be aware of large, hairy men in the woods.
