Ben Braunshtain - Towards the Sea

The music video for Ben Braunshtain's song “Towards the Sea” talks about man's desire to cleanse himself of sins through prayers, while being trapped within the mechanism of sin and its repeated punishment.

The hero of the clip believes that if he prays really hard, he will whitewash the lie. In his case, the lie is the addiction to shopping and following the shares in the stock market. Thanks to the prayers, at some point the magic materializes and the hero of the clip manages to be purified - his clothes turn from black to white.

While meditating, a thought comes to him that brings him back to glance at his watch, which symbolizes time and materiality. The obsession with glancing at the clock, even with a cup of coffee in hand, leads him, distractedly, to spill all the coffee on himself and stain himself. White is no longer white. The look of the protagonist in the final shot leaves no room for doubt: human nature is to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
