Because of Love

This is the story of Anna and Malkhaz living together for forty years in a small village in Georgia.
Life in the villages here is becoming increasingly unbearable. People leave their homes and move to the capital to earn a living. How did Malkhaz and Anna manage to stay in the village and why did they not leave their ancestral lands?

Director Biography - Nino Memanishvili

After finishing Anastasia Virsaladze Art Gymnasium, film and theatre directing faculty I graduated from the film directing faculty at Georgian Technical University.
Starting my career in television I have over 15 years of experience editing digital video stories and multimedia content. Currently, I work in the South Caucasus media organization Go Group Media/Jam-News as a director, editor and camerawoman. In 2019 I launched my film company “Studio CHVEN”.
In 2018 I submitted my first feature documentary film project I HAVE NO WINGS to CinéDOC-Summer School. Film was premiered in 2021 at CinéDOC -Tbilisi International film festival, screened at Tbilisi International Documentary Film Festival and some more international film festivals. Received awards as a Best Documentary at the Tokyo Film Awards in Japan, Wallachia Int'l Film Festival in Romania, and Honorable Mention at Deep Focus Film Festival in United States. IDENTITY IN PROCESS – my second film project, won the Development Award at the Civil Pitch 2019.
