Barking Mad

How much barking does it take to drive someone mad? For George, it's two days, seven hours and three minutes. If George ever wants to nap in peace, he must pick a bone with his awfully optimistic neighbour and her peppy pooch.

Director Statement

Australian seniors are facing a loneliness epidemic. Once they’ve retired and everyone has left the nest, isolation creeps in.

‘Barking Mad’ draws inspiration from my 78 years old Ukrainian granny who’s still actively searching for a boyfriend. Being my family’s only child, I feel very responsible for my grandma. So I wanted to pay tribute to those delightfully cheeky, witty and sneaky senior folks living their lives to the fullest.

Barking Mad is the story about a relentless dog, modern day loneliness and falling in love.
