BOOBA

“BOOBA” is a striking fairy-tale about Maestro, a lonely old man who lives with his man-dog, Booba. When Booba runs away, their once harmonious relationship descends into chaos. After punishing Booba for his actions, Maestro spirals with guilt: why would Booba betray him? Out of desperation, Maestro introduces a guest into their world to test the limits of Booba’s love. Director Statement

We refer to dogs as ‘Man’s best friend’, but the complexity of this relationship is often overlooked. Seeing how my father interacted with his dog, I grew fascinated by the contradiction between love and control. By portraying a dog as a man, we are confronted with a mirror for our own actions.
