Director Statement

We have to leave behind misery as our most obvious theme, and return to beauty, surprise, and miracle. Sadness can perhaps be the canvas but joy the technique. Happiness does not have to be nonsense, a romantic comedy completely and totally removed from our context or a movie about Christmas. We must portray hard moments, but give hope its rightful place. There are many favorite movies for the thoughtful, violent, and dark-humorous adult. I want to see more fantastic films, either feature films or documentaries or whatever. I want to feel that I have the right to dream, I want to know that other people have it and thus find ourselves again on a path of imagination and creativity because we have nothing left but to cling to life and dreams as we fall in this world of constant pain.
