Director Statement

'At The End Of The Road' is written as a response to the toxic nature of judgement on all sides of disagreements that have come to the fore in 2020. The script tries to not take a stance on the issues themselves, but instead focus on the impact it has on friendship and family.

We wanted to develop a story that would correspond with the GLAAD recommended Vito Russo Test to create more robust multidimensional characters, while also working to improve representation in films. As such the film contains a character that is identifiably lesbian and is made up of the same sort of unique character traits commonly used to differentiate straight characters from one another - her narrative being driven by her relationship to her brother. She is tied into the plot in such a way that their removal would have a significant effect.

Ultimately, the film is about family and not holding on to anger.

Shot under strick social distancing conditions, with no budget and using simple available kit such as the DJI Osmo Pocket, we chose to really focus on the actors performances and let things play out - which did mean having to perform the entire film for every single take.

We're very proud of what we've done and hopefully it will resonate with audiences.
