Dmitri Voloshin was born on 9th August 1974. At the age of 15 he got himself familiar with personal computers and wrote games. He graduated from the Polytechnic University in Chisinau. Along with small business he studied computer graphics on a self-assembled computer. In the same period, he studied 3D-graphics and began working on commercials.
In 2001, Voloshin directed the music video of the popular Moldovan band O-Zone for the hit “Dragostea din Tei” ( #7 in world charts).
In 2002, Dmitri founded the Simpals company, engaged in video production, and later – in 3D animation. In 2019, Simpals Studio announced the release of the first VR animated film in its portfolio, "ARIPI"."
"The premiere date for the cartoon “ARIPI” was not chosen by chance: 12 April is the International Cosmonautics Day. Practically each of us dreamed of becoming an astronaut in childhood. And now, thanks to VR technology, all grown-up boys and girls can return to childhood and make their childhood dream come true.
“ARIPI” is also a very personal project. A few years ago, my close friend, the pilot Yuri Boroday went missing, and it was then that I realized that the film should be a dedication to him. And since that moment everything has changed: the story has ceased to be a fun attraction and has become a piercing story with deep philosophical inferences.
