Second short film after the success of Curse of the Meyers' House in the film festival circuit. More about the director: https://filmfreeway.com/projects/2588656
We challenged ourselves to choreograph a short film in a long take or 'oner' format, focusing on technical excellence rather than character development or story. Our approach is to take it one step at a time. We created this film with a like-minded, hardworking crew and absolutely no budget. To achieve our vision, we sought a mix of outdoor and indoor locations that were not too busy, ideally a residential neighbourhood where we could control the filming conditions. While we did not film the entire 18-minute movie in one single take, most of the scenes were shot in 2-3 minute long takes. We used colour match, foreground objects, and motion blur techniques in post-production to stitch together the obvious cuts. The inspiration behind the work was from the cinematography styles in movies such as Birdman (2014), Children of Men (2006), Revenant (2015), and 1917 (2019).
